Cookies and preferences

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Local storage keeps preferences in the same browser. Mia & Andy currently uses the mechanisms below; these do not represent a child account.

Sessions and security

miaAndyAdmin — a session cookie also used for public navigation: form protection, the context for returning to the catalog and administrator authentication. It also validates statistics submissions; the session identifier is not stored in the statistics table. It is configured as a session cookie; some browsers may restore sessions when reopened.

Selected language

miaAndyLocale — a cookie configured to last one year, updated when visiting public pages to reflect the address’s language. The URL determines the language: Romanian with /ro, English without a prefix. The cookie and miaAndy.preferences.v1 in local storage do not change the language of a public link.

Page appearance

miaAndyTheme — a cookie configured to last one year, renewed when light or dark appearance is applied. The preference is also kept in miaAndy.preferences.v1 alongside language. Website appearance does not change game scenery.

Game sound

casuta-sound — a local storage entry that keeps sound on or off. Change it using the sound button in a game. Its technical name comes from the original version of the games.

How long preferences remain

The application sets no automatic expiry for local storage; it remains until cleared by you or removed by the browser. Cookies and preferences belong to a browser and domain. They do not automatically transfer to another device or a new domain.

Game-use statistics

We collect game-use statistics on our own server: game openings, starts, completions, replays, visible-page playing time, language and an estimated device category. A random identifier distinguishes each attempt; it is not a persistent visitor profile. The statistics table does not store names, IP addresses or the technical session token. The existing technical session validates event submissions. These counts describe attempts, not individual children. Games continue to work if statistics cannot be sent. This is separate from Google Analytics.

Google Analytics (only with your agreement)

_ga and _ga_9W7CCSMGR1 — cookies set by Google Analytics only after you allow it in Cookie settings. They hold a random identifier that tells visits from the same browser apart and last up to 2 years. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. If you turn Google Analytics off, the site deletes these cookies.

Changing or deleting data

Change your Google Analytics choice from Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Change language and appearance in the header and sound inside a game. To remove all site data, use your browser settings to clear this site’s cookies and local storage. This may reset preferences, the context for returning to the catalog and administrator authentication. Blocking all cookies may affect website functionality.

Updating the inventory

This page describes storage used by the application and is updated when website functions or services change.

Your cookie choice

miaAndy.cookieNotice.v1 — a local storage entry that keeps your choice for Google Analytics, the notice version and the time of your choice. The application asks again after 180 days or when the notice version changes; the entry may remain in the browser until site data is cleared.
